Don previewed and discussed his new book Grown Up Digital at WFI 08.  This new digital generation views technology in a transparent way.  Further, they process information differently, in addition they represent significant cultural changes – including their multitasking  abilities.

These changed put pressure on government, business, education and  others to adapt to the different needs of this generation.

Think of this paradigm change… E-mail is considered antiquated technology by this generation. Instead, Skype, instant messages, and SMS text messaging technologies represent their communications taxonomy.

WIB’s around the country have embraced business outreach, by adding capacity within. Partnerships with FBO’s and non-profits have strengthened workforce development.

WFD needs to increase outreach to at-risk groups.
